Ame’s allies assembled: Xtreme Gaming completes Dota 2 roster

Following their capture of superstar carry Wang “Ame” Chunyu, Xtreme Gaming has finally put the pieces around him.

Guo “Xm” Hongchen, Lin “Xxs” Jing, and Zhao “XinQ” Zixing are the latest additions to Xtreme Gaming, completing the Chinese organization’s roster.

These three players, as well as the coach, came from 2023’s last big winner: Azure Ray, who completed an epic reverse sweep at ESL One Kuala Lumpur to take down perennial champions Gaimin Gladiators.

While Ame was confirmed more than two weeks ago after more than a year away from the competition scene, his teammates have trickled in later. It’s no surprise that Xtreme Gaming chose Azure Ray to complete their roster — the two teams are established by the same owner, Yang Yiqing.

Azure Ray was initially a project to bring back three legendary players from one of China’s most dominant rosters — Ame’s former teammates as well. The team greatly exceeded expectations, however, becoming one of two Chinese teams to qualify for The International 2023, finishing fourth in that tournament.

Ding “Dy” Cong is the last person remaining from one of XG’s first rosters. The 26-year-old shot to fame during his three-year stint with Vici Gaming from 2018 to 2021, establishing himself as one of China’s best position fives. He’s been with Xtreme Gaming since exiting Vici, marking two years with his current team.
