Topson confirmed for Tundra’s active roster with all-new teammates

Topias “Topson” Taavitsainen isn’t going anywhere else for 2024.

The two-time The International winner will once more be in the thick of things with Tundra Esports, confirmed as the Western European organization’s midlaner moving forward in 2024.

Tundra’s support duo has also been confirmed — Edgar “9Class” Naltakian and Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon will take up positions four and five respectively.

Topson previously joined the team as an emergency replacement for Martin “Saksa” Sazdov, playing with Tundra’s TI11-winning roster for just one tournament, TI12. Except for Topson, the team has since broken up.

Leon “Nine” Kirilin and Kurtis “Aui_2000” Ling parted ways with the team, Neta “33” Shapira is now with Team Liquid, while Oliver “skiter” Lepko and Jingjun “Sneyking” Wu moved to Team Falcons.

While the 25-year-old hasn’t technically left Tundra since, he was not part of the organization’s first roster for 2024, when they took over the former TSM and Team Undying roster for ESL One Kuala Lumpur.

Tundra has since released four players and the coach from this roster, retaining Matthew “Whitemon” Filemon as its position five. This marks a reunion between Whitemon and Topson, who played together briefly under the T1 banner at TI11 — falling at the Last Chance qualifiers.

Edgar “9Class” Naltakian will be the newest name on the roster, starting his professional career in December 2022. The 20-year-old previously played for Team Bear and Team Sexy, and will be Tundra’s new soft support heading into the new season.

Tundra still needs two more core players to round out their roster. With the org confirmed for the BetBoom Dacha Dubai WEU qualifiers beginning January 11, we’ll likely see the team’s full lineup in less than a week.
