Entity parts ways with Tobi ahead of TI12 Regional Qualifiers

Western Europe’s Entity is parting ways with one of its original members after missing out on the Bali Major.

Tobias “Tobi” Buchner will no longer be part of Entity, the organization announced today. The WEU team can no longer secure enough Dota Pro Circuit points to be part of the top 12 teams in the Dota Pro Circuit.

This is just the third change for Entity in their nearly two years together, as well as the first time any player but the carry has left the team.

Tobi has been part of Entity since the organization took over Creepwave. He’s helped the team establish itself as a consistent challenger in the incredibly competitive Western Europe region, placing tied-fifth in two separate Majors — PGL Arlington Major and Lima Major — as well as participating in The International 2022.

In order to book their ticket to The International, Entity will need to contest the TI12 regional qualifiers — where two slots are open for the WEU region, as per Valve’s announcement today.

The search for a new offlaner will now begin in earnest — but it’s a role that’s notoriously difficult to fill. Notable free agents in the region include two former Team Secret alumni: Roman “Resolut1on” Fomynok and Miroslav “BOOM” Bičan.

Entity does have the propensity to look towards Eastern Europe for up-and-coming talent, however — former players Ivan “Pure” Moskalenko and Alimzhan “watson” Islambekov both fit the bill. It’s possible they have their eyes on the ranked leaderboard, or on offlaners currently plying their trade in Division 2.
